Orientation & Schedule Pick-Up
We are excited to celebrate the start of the 2026 – 2027 School Year. Please carefully review the information below to ensure your students are ready for the beginning of the school year. We hope to see everyone for Back-to-School Night on Thursday, September 3 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm.
8/6 or 8/7: Freshman
8:00 AM – 1:30 PM
Important: Personalized Date Assignments
Please note that students will be assigned only one of these two dates.
Orientation groups are being organized according to each student’s tutorial period. This allows Link Crew Leaders to stay connected with the same group of freshmen throughout the school year and continue providing support during tutorial.
We are currently waiting for student schedules to be finalized before those groups can be assigned. You will receive an email in late July with your student’s specific assigned date and final orientation details.
Thank you for your understanding. We are looking forward to welcoming the Class of 2030!

Schedule ChangesGoogle Form to request schedule changes
Student requests to change classes are granted in the following order:
- Error or mistake in the schedule (an example of this would include, but is not limited to, a missing class, two classes scheduled in the same period, mismatched first/second semester teachers, being scheduled for the wrong level course, etc). All these requests take first priority over any others and are fixed immediately.
- Students requesting a level change (for example, up into/down out of an Honors/AP course). All these requests take second priority and are adjusted when there is available space in the desired course. These requests must be completed by the 6th week of school;
- Students requesting an elective change/upper level math or science change. These requests take third priority, are only adjusted when there is available space in the desired course, and without impacting other classes. All requests must be submitted to counseling utilizing a google form by the end of the first full week of school (or the first week upon return from winter break).

Be Here, On Time, All Day, Every Day
Attendance is a vital and important part of our everyday mission. Most importantly, the best way for your student to access the high quality programs and expertise of our faculty and staff is to be at school each day. However, the importance of accurate and timely attendance also ensures that our school is safe, students are accounted for, and ultimately attendance is how our school is funded. Please take a moment to review the following important attendance policies. This will help ensure the accuracy of our records and reduce frustration this school year.
Remember Bearcats: Be Here, On Time, All Day, Every Day!
Edia is our new attendance system to improve communication with families regarding student attendance and absences, maximize timely intervention and improve accuracy of absence reasons. Parents will receive truancy letters through email and text messages from Edia. Edia is a two-way communication system in which parents can communicate the reason for student absences. Parents can respond to the text message they receive to clear their student’s absence for that day.
With the addition of Edia, notifications of absences and tardies will be handled by Edia, and consequences notifications for tardies will be handled by Minga. Consequences can include detention and/or Saturday school.Attendance Office Contact Information: (805) 769-1510, prhsattendance@pasoschools.org
-
Please clear any absences the DAY of the absence. Absences can only be cleared up to 48 hours following the absence after which they will be changed to a truancy and can only be cleared by attending Saturday School. Excused Absences can only include illness, medical appointments, death of an immediate family member, jury duty or court appearance, or a religious ceremony or retreat. Illness that lasts more than 3 days requires a doctor's note. All doctors' notes require a signature and stamp. All other absences are considered unexcused.
Absences can be cleared by anyof the following:
- (PREFERRED) Email the attendance office at prhsattendance@pasoschools.org. Please include in your message your student’s name, your name, and the reason for the absence. We verify email addresses with the address listed in Aeries and will call with any questions.
- Call the attendance office at (805) 769-1510. Please leave a message with your student’s name, your name, and the reason for the absence. We do our best to answer the phone each time it rings, but if we miss your call please leave a message. Attendance voicemails are delivered to our computer and are processed throughout the day.
- When you receive a phone call informing you of your student’s absence, stay on the line and you can leave a message for our Attendance Office.
-
Campus Permits must be requested in a timely manner in order for the Attendance Office to have the time to verify the validity of the requests.
Please request an Off-Campus Request by:
- Emailing the attendance office at prhsattendance@pasoschools.org no less than 1 hour prior to the leave time.
- Sending your student to campus with a signed note and having them check into the attendance office before nutrition.
- Calling the attendance office no less than 1 hour prior to the leave time. 805-769-1510.
- Off-Campus Requests should include the following information: student’s name, date leaving, time leaving, time returning, reason for absence and signature of parent/guardian with a phone number where they can be reached on the day of the off-campus request.
Please note:
- Students who leave campus without obtaining an off-campus permit will be considered TRUANT, which may result in disciplinary action.
- In the event that a student leaves campus without first checking out through the Attendance Office, parents/guardians CANNOT excuse the absence after-the-fact.
- Off Campus Permits for medical/dental reasons must be returned to the Attendance Office with doctor’s/dentist’s verification to receive proper attendance coding.
- Parents are not permitted to go directly to the classroom to get a student. Security personnel will escort the student to the Attendance Office.
