Work Permits

Annual Renewal and Eligibility Requirements

Students under age 18 who are employed in California are required to have a valid work permit. All work permits must be renewed each year on September 1.

To qualify for a work permit, students must:

• Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
• Have no more than one “F” grade in the most recent term
• Maintain at least 90% attendance

Work permit applications are available in the PRHS Counseling Office. The application must be signed by the student, parent/guardian, and employer before it is returned to the Counseling Office for final review, approval, and signatures.
