August 17-23, 2026

Dear Bearcat Families,

This past week was an extraordinary launch to our school year as we welcomed back over 2000 students and more than 100 staff to our newly repainted campus!

This is the first full week of school coming up and it represents what the 'typical' week at PRHS for the entire year. We start with a Collaboration Schedule on Monday, Regular Schedules on Tuesday and again on Friday, and Block Days on Wednesday and Thursday. Dismissal is at 3:30pm almost every day except for the Collaboration schedule, where students are released at 2:42.

This past week was also my first time starting the school year as Principal at PRHS and what wonderful week it was! In my time in Paso Robles I am regularly reminded of what a special place this is; it just feels like 'family' and I cannot thank you all enough, from the leadership of the PRJUSD, to the amazing faculty and staff, of PRHS, and especially the families and students of community for everything you bring to this school.

Thank you, everyone and Go Bearcats!

Sincerely,
Mike Susank
Principal

Reminders

Attendance

Across our District daily attendance is a point of emphasis this year. We are utilizing two communication programs for daily attendance, Edia and Minga so please be looking out for messages from those programs via both email and text. Please continue to work in partnership with our school to make sure students are arriving on time in the morning and present for all of their classes.

Attendance Office

Our campus underwent one major change in operations this summer with the move of our attendance office. The office is now located in the 500 building, right at the front of campus. The office is right behind the flag pole, to the left of the main gate and just to right of the Performing Arts Center (if one is looking at the campus from the parking lot). The public entry is on the left, near the construction area for the new Cosmetology salon (which is on schedule to open in just a few weeks).

Office Drop Offs

We understand that students occasionally forget school items. Emergency-level drop-offs for medicine or health related items are always accepted at the school Reception Desk (not the Attendance Office). However, non-emergency items such as Chromebooks, sports equipment and uniforms, are not easily stored in our office, nor is there a practical way for us to deliver those items to students with a campus of over 2000 students. The only place to store those items is our Safety Office and that office is not always available in time for students to retrieve the item that day. As such, we cannot guarantee that items dropped off for students will be available to them in a timely manner, even after school. We will accept those items, but it is possible that they will not get to your student until the next school day.

Please Note-Food Drop Offs are not allowed under District Policy and will NOT be accepted at any office at PRHS.
