Good Afternoon Bearcat Family!
School days over these next couple of weeks will be peppered with various end-of-year testing programs. Some of that testing is mandated by the State, such as the CAASPP test for 11th graders in both ELA and Mathematics. Other tests are culminating the various subjects of our Advanced Placement (AP) classes; and some of it is chosen by our District so that we can better measure academic growth and classroom effectiveness. These are the iReady tests in ELA and Math for ninth and tenth graders. With that in mind, please make sure that daily attendance for your student remains a top priority, even though summer days are approaching.
Attention Senior Parents: We are still several weeks away from graduation at War Memorial on the night of Friday June 5, but please start making plans to ensure this is a great celebration for all students in the class of 2026 and their families. Specifically, please know that artificial noise makers, confetti, airhorns, and balloons are all prohibited from the stadium that night.
The noise devices are self-explanatory but please also keep in mind that confetti is an unbelievable burden on our custodial efforts. In fact, just this past week it was still not too difficult to spot confetti in the cracks of the steps at War left over from LAST year. Also, we all know June can be on the warm side but it is also breezy in the evenings and those balloons that look so fun in the store do NOT stay put in a crowded stadium. Your seat neighbors are going to be bumped and blocked all evening. Leave those balloons at home for your graduate to enjoy later that evening!
Graduation Night is going to be a wonderful culmination of our seniors amazing four-year career. Thank you all in advance for making it special for everyone; and additional information will be coming out of school as we get closer to this event.
Have a great week Bearcats!
Regards,
Mike Susank
