Good Evening Bearcats!
Its probably appropriate that on a holiday weekend celebrating our 16th president, I find myself in a reflective mood. Even though our school doesn't date back all the way to the time of Lincoln, it is amazing to consider that one hundred and thirty four years have passed since the founding of Paso Robles High School.
Every day when I walk around our campus I am reminded of the hundreds and hundreds (and hundreds) of innovative and brave decisions that were made decades ago, that still positively impact our campus in the present. We are blessed with countless buildings, facilities, and programs that would be the envy of nearly every high school across our country. The list of incredible Career Pathways that are at our students fingertips every day is just awesome. And almost none of us (and certainly not I) can take much credit. Our current campus was conceived and designed over fifty years ago and it opened just over forty years ago. Most of the campus buildings of today were part of that original design, including most of the critical infrastructure necessary for the diverse course options we now enjoy.
I, for one, am so grateful for the incredible wisdom, courage, and generosity of those past six generations of Paso Robles residents and leaders who, make 'today' possible for our students and for me to enjoy.
I hope every enjoys the long weekend and I also hope that everyone in our community can find some reason to stop, reflect and be struck with gratitude for the people who made the hard decisions in the past, that positively impacted our present. Thanks for indulging my moment and as always, thank you for your partnership in this vocation.
Regards,
Mike Susank
