Trig Star Contest Results

On April 27th, 12 PRHS math students competed in the Trig Star Math Contest held by Mr. Clark. The annual contest is administered by the California Land Surveyors Association.  Students from grades 9-12, prepared for 6 weeks studying topics related to land surveying, including right triangle trigonometry, the Law of Sines, and the Law of Cosines. They took a one hour test which was graded for both speed and accuracy of answers.These students will have the opportunity to earn scholarships by participating.   Our top two students also placed 1st and 3rd place regionally, and their scores will be sent to the state.Congratulations to Gwenyth Lemon, 1st place PRHS, 1st place regionally, Anthony Williams, 2nd place PRHS, 3rd place regionally, and Christian Serna, 3rd place PRHS.  Students won a cash prize and are now eligible for more scholarships at the state level.  Way to go Bearcats!
