Track Pole Vault Record Shattered!!!

Peyton Bedrosian is literally soaring to new heights as a junior on the Paso Robles High School Track and Field team! While being expertly coached by the previous pole vault record holder and PRHS teacher, Codie Wilshusen, Peyton is exceeding expectations!

In 2017, Coach Wilshusen set the record at 12'4" during her senior year. Peyton Bedrosian had her sights set on breaking the record since the beginning of the 2023 track season. At the track meet on on April 19th, 2023 on the Paso Robles High School campus, Peyton easily cleared 12'3". While the crowd thought she might try to break the record with an attempt at 12'5", instead Peyton let the bar stay at 12'9" and cleared it on her third attempt!!!

With a flurry of hugs and high fives from her coaches and teammates, the entire track team ran to give hugs. The happy tears were certainly flowing! Peryton is already hearing from college coaches looking to sign her to their team once she graduates in 2025. With CIF and state right around the corner for Peyton the next couple of weeks will be full of hard work and hopefully medals!!!

Congratulations to Peyton and the Bedrosian family.
